Carole and Larry (July 27, 2009)

Congrats to Carole and Larry Oldham of Newburgh, IN on their marriage last week! Carole and Larry's wedding day had a very nice family atmosphere free of all the usual hoopla. James Baker (formerly of the JazzMan Cafe in Winchester) served up some succulent barbeque ribs, fried chicken, and traditional Southern sides. My sax player and I played jazz and pop tunes for their ceremony and reception. Rachel Trebolo was their official photographer. Ele and I also shot video throughout the day. Stay tuned to this web site to see a video from their reception soon. Kudos Larry and Carole!

The Kentucky Derby Train (May 12, 2009)
![]()
A couple of weeks ago my jazz duo (piano and sax) had the pleasure of providing music on the Kentucky Derby Train ride from Lexington to Louisville. Although the governor didn't ride this year, it was still an interesting event. CXS Railroad sponsored the ride and each rail car had a different theme...we played on the jazz car, one had pop music, and my fellow DJ Jeff did the dance car. Here are a few pics my wife and I snapped during the day. If you Google Kentucky Derby Train, you can probably find photos and video clips on YouTube. As we were traveling, there were many photographers at the train intersections...

If you are interested, they can be reached at www.signaturefurniture-lexington.com. Tell them Kevin Moreland sent you.

Tim and Shelley at Berry Hill (March 23, 2009)

Congrats to Senator Tim Shaughnessy and Shelley Neal of Louisville who had a very elegant wedding and reception at Berry Hill Mansion over the weekend. In addition my piano and sax duo who provided music for the ceremony and reception, Seasons Catering of Lexington provided the meal and David Lee from Louisville was their official photographer. Small intimate receptions without all the fanfare are such a welcome treat. It fit the elegant and relaxed atmosphere that these two professionals wanted to provide for their close friends and family. In additional to our usual jazz flavor, we also worked up a few requests for Tim and Shelley. Their entrance piece for the wedding was Something (Beatles), which we played instrumentally as well as Enya's Wild Child during the unity candle and James Taylor's How Sweet It Is for their recessional. Shelley's grandfather was partial to Enya and so it held special meaning for her to have this song played. It is *always* our pleasure to work up requests. Although my services are not the least expensive around, I know that you'll discover, as many others have before you, that I provide a good value for your dollar. Here are a few stills I was able to snap during the day with a point and shoot. I love how they had the place decorated. Berry Hill is a beautiful ceremony and reception venue. Happy planning and have a wonderful week! --kev
Big News! (March 09, 2009)

My fiancee Ele is flying in this Wednesday and we are getting married next week! Thank you all for the kind words and encouragement! We are beyond stoked! Words do not accurately express the intensity of emotion. I am usually fairly quick to return calls and emails, but please allow a longer time than usual to respond to your inquiries during the next couple of weeks. Thanks for understanding and have a peaceful week. --kev
